Langston University Transportation Center of Excellence’s (LUTCE) goals are to promote innovation, technology, safety, careers, research education, and outreach in all areas and aspects of transportation.

Accomplishments of the LUTCE department include:

The United States Department of Transportation recently approved Langston University (LU), University of Oklahoma (OU), and Oklahoma State University (OSU) as a National University Transportation Center for applied research. This designation qualifies LU faculty and staff to apply for $1.5 million in grants annually, for five years. The center conducts research for the public and private sector partners.

Many high school students have been recruited to Langston University through the National Summer Transportation Institute.

Langston University graduates have been assisted with employment through the internship program.

Through our programs, students study the various transportation careers and some are able to shadow career professionals during the summer months.
